Tracy grew up in a small town in Iowa with her family when her twin sister was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 3. Her sister fought bravely until she died at the age of 7. After high school, Tracy attended college at Iowa State University and then returned to her hometown to live with her husband and raise their children.
